Dollar Stores Now Extinct

The days of the 99 cents / dollar stores are over. It all started in 2008 when the 99 cents only stores raised their prces to 99.9 cents and over time items became increasingly expensive $1.99, $2.99, up to $9.99. I pay very close attention to pricing because I am cheap. Stater Bros who are NOT cheap actually has $.99 cents only stores beat on some things. Family Dollar stores were never really much of a real dollar store. Family Dollar is owned by Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree was the last hold out and only this year caved and changed almost all their items to $1.25. I did see some items in the refrigerated / frozen area for more than $1.25. Everything is going up except my income.
