let's Try a Payday Loan

Late at night on Wednesday the 6th, I realized I had five bucks and almost no gas, and wasn't getting paid until the 15th. I normally am fairly organized and a good planner but this new agency surprised me with a policy of "holding back" the first paycheck (a practice that will be discussed in the very near future on this blog). I remember hearing commercials for Check Into Cash - a payday loan place. I see these type of places alot, but some of them look a little sketchy, with a pawn shop on one side and a massage place on the other. I went online and looked up Check Into Cash. They have an online application. I decided to apply, the address bar started with "https" and had the padlock icon. Because I know about Check Into Cash for twenty plus years it was easier to trust the process. I applied and surrendered all my personal information. Upon completion of that process I recieved and printed out an approval for more than I needed. I called the next morning ahead and my local store confirmed my application and said come on down and get your cash. Upon arrival at Check into Cash, they photo copied my I.D. and job verification document that I arranged to get e-mailed to me. BYE THE WAY, depending on the size and privacy policies of the company you work for, someone or everyone in the HR dept. is going to know you are hard up for cash. So another half-page of on-paper application and a signature or two and and I was handed $103.25 in cash. "Thank you - see you on the fifteenth". On my way out I asked if in the future if I needed it, now that I have done all of this prep work, can I just walk in and get another hundred bucks and she said yes. Why $103.25? No, you can't choose your own loan amount. It starts at $50.00 and runs up to $2,000.00 Come next pay day I have to pay these folks back. The pay-back for $103.25 is $120.00, they don't want the number in your head to be the loan amount - they want it to be the payback amount. I went in to pay the loan and the agent said "Would you like to roll it over and get more cash today? Oh that's dirty pool. What a temptation. To be cheap requires discipline, I said no. I did go in prior to the next payday and grabbed $43.50 for a payday $50.00 pay with no hassle and no wait. I don't plan on needing them again, but it's nice to know they are ready to help me. I don't know if payday loans are good for alot of people. The meassage I want to send is if you are going to do it, Check into cash is safe, professional, clean and secure.
