Fast Food
It seems to me that something went way wrong with the flavor of fast food after government regulations forced restaurants to list calorie counts. I think a lot of flavor went away with that.
MSG and salt and grease have great flavor but maybe a lot of calories.
I noticed it first at Denny's. I loved breakfast at Denny's - the variety of flavors between the eggs and the links and the hash browns, ketchup on everything and toast and jelly and at one in the morning after a night out?
In the sixties and seventies, fast food was kind of a quick cheap and tasty alternative to - once every couple of weeks - the family dinner at the table.
Now fast food is weekly if not more.
Fast food is now expensive and as consumers we shouldn't have let them get away with it.
Fast food is becoming more an more greasless and more and more saltless and MSGless and more flavorless and the only reason that was okay is that those things are bad for you if you consume them everyday.
Most people in the sixties ate fast food once or twice a month if that. Now in the 2010s sometimes everyday.
THIS JUST IN
A footlong Subway sandwich is now $9.00. Do you understand how many groceries... rice, beans, corn, vegetables, soup you can buy for $9.00?
Wise Up.
